Hello,  my name is Tom Dillon.  I have been on the water since the age of 5.  I grew up in Island Heigthts N.J. on a very sailing oriented bay called Barnaget Bay.  I grew to love the water and have been on or near it my whole life.  I spent many years racing sailboats all over the country.  I have also done quite a bit of windsurfing.  Now at the age of 41,  I still love the water as much as ever. 

About four years ago I was introduced to the sport of Kiteboarding and was fascinated by it.  I couldn't wait to get a kite and board and get out on the water.  I soon learned that  it wasn't as easy as I thought.  After much trial and error,  cuts and bruises,  I was riding.  This sport is very unforgiving to the novice rider.  I realized that in order to excel SAFELY and efficiently,  you have to have proper instruction.  I also couldn't help but notice how fast the sport was growing.  I decided to take my many years of sailing and windsurfing instruction and concentrate on making the sport of kiteboarding safe, and as fun as possible not only for kiters,  but for beaches and onlookers alike.  Here in Jacksonville FL.  kiteboarding is very popular and the brotherhood of kiters is a very close knit community.  We are always open to new enthusiastic people to join the crowd,  but we have an obligation to ourselves and others to make sure everyone is as well informed and skilled as possible before they go out on their own.  At  Dillon Kite Sports we understand that instruction is very important not only for the student,  but the instructor as well.  We don't just want you to learn how to kiteboard,  we want you to embark on a whole new lifestyle.  I look forward to having a great experience with you!
